I figured I would share this video with you guys/gals. Got a nice gray wolf last weekend (10/22) up here in Montana. I literally was just sitting on a stump waiting around for a nice buck to trot by into the clearing I was by. I kept on hearing a couple wolves in the distance howling, not expecting them to come much closer, and eventually this one came by and didnt even notice me sitting there. ON the way back to MIssoula I stopped by the game check point and there happened to be a local reporter hanging out.

Matrix187, I am sooooooooooooo jealous I am going out the middle of the week with my deer and WOLF tag I am in south central Montana. I am hoping to put down a deer and if luck is with me I would give up on the deer for a Wolf..... My father-in-law and I were both against the wolf introduction as we both worked cows... Well done and wish me luck.....

Awesome wolf, congrats!

The comments under the video make my stomach turn....some people....:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Thanks for the comments. Some of the comments don't surprise me at all. Some people don't realize how dominant wolves are as predators. Their numbers do need to be kept in check. What I've heard from my Alaskan buddies is once they are hunted for X amount of time they become pretty smart and avoid human contact even more so. In the future I could see wolf hunts requiring much more effort up here. I'm lucky to have had the chance of seeing one before they 'smarten' up.

The Colorado division of wildlife knows that we have wolves in the area and are not releasing info on them. I sent them an email a few days ago and haven't heard back yet. Awesome job Matrix187. 303tom I too dislike seeing wolves shot, I wish that folks had not decided to re-introduce them. On that note as soon as colorado allows it I going on a wolf reduction campaign. I have no use for reduced elk populations when tags are already becoming less available.

Man is the apex predator. An environment without man taking wolves is not a natural environment, it's a zoo.

That's the comment I left for the whack jobs on the link.

Justin, watch yourself! Some of these nuts aren't beyond taking revenge and this story leaves you exposed.

I don't like wolves being shot either, they look to much like several dogs i've owned. And I think they're really beautiful animals. Having said that....I also think there needs to be a balance and if I lived in an area and had wolf problems I sure wouldn't hesitate.

Congrats on a good hunt!!!!:)
