After waiting for about 65 days, the state finally got my concealed carry license to me. On my lunch break I shot over to Cabelas and picked up a IWB Bianchi holster.

Naturally, the concern on my mind right now is whether or not anyone else at work can tell that I'm carrying, and when I stand up I find myself reflexively tugging my shirt to make sure it is hanging loosely on me.

Overall, I'm mostly feeling relief that I can finally carry legally, not only according to Constitutional rights but state rights as well. :D

When I got to Cabelas, they didn't have my pistol in stock (a CZ83) so they invited me to bring mine in, unloaded, so we could try some different holsters. Well, I brought it in and checked it at the front desk. There were a bunch of young Scouts with some "den mothers" present at the counter, and when they saw the lady employee escorting me back to the gun counter, one den mother remarked, "Look. They have a gun, so you better all behave." The employee and I chuckled to ourselves and went on our way.

Anyway, I feel a little more...um..."complete" now that I have my CCW with me.

    Congrats!

This is the only thing that might look funny to someone. If I want to make sure my shirt is hanging loosly I scratch my ear (neck, nose, whatever), brings attention up away from my waist and allows my shirt to hang free in the process.

btw: like your screen name. ;)

FWIW, Beretta 84 holsters fit the CZ 83 like a glove.

CCW age varies. 18 in some states and 21 in others. 21 for Utah.

I thought the 21 minimum age for a pistol was federal (from a dealer, and thus for a CCW license)? It's 21 in Oregon for CCW.
Congrats! It will feel like you have a boat anchor on your hip and "GUN" stenciled on your forehead for a while but it fades. Now you just need to make sure you are always in condition yellow :)

    Congrats!

I was supposed to get my renewal today but they were missing paperwork. I'm a citizen but was born out of the country. I provided my naturalization papers the first time but didn't think I'd need them for the renewal. :banghead:

It expires next Thursday so I won't be able to carry for a while.
