I believe that's a Tikka T3 lite Stainless, the hunter models all have wooden stocks. Regardless, that rifle in 7 mag, '06 or 300 mag should be the perfect "anything, anywhere" rifle. I love my blued Tikkas, but I've been thinking lately that they really need a stainless brother to keep them company, and pull hunting duty when the weather is not cooperating...

Great choice and welcome to the club!

Had a look at some of those at the local Ganger Mountain. Seemed to be well built. Nice trigger. Not bad at all. :)

yeah, that looks like a T3 lite stainless, I lucked out in to one in 6.5 x 55 right about the time they quit exporting them to the U.S. in that caliber. cant tell you how many people want to talk me out of that rifle. I love it.

I have a Tikka T3 Hunter (wooden stock) in 7mag and it has been awesome. Outstanding shooter, very accurate. So far one of my best investments. I think that you will enjoy your rifle, a nice choice.

Good looking rifle UCan.

Me too. I love my 6.5x55 Tikka.

I also ditched the stock rings right away because of some problems i read on here and got a one peice base and rings. I got these on the suggestion from the shop i got the rifle from. Are they good or should i go with leupold style bases and rings?

Have the exact same setup on mine. Couldn't be happier about the decision to go with the Game Reaper (matter of fact, I've bought several more of their rings/bases for other rifles as well). I have a 3-9x40 Zeiss scope on my T3, and it's been rock solid from day 1.

The DNZ mounts are solid. Also, look at the Talley LW's which are an excellent option.

congrats! My first Tikka was a double rifle in 9.3X74R, later added a set of 12 gauge barrels...

one of these days I might have to try a bolt from them...

Got my scope today. I got a nikon buckmaster is 4.5-14x40 with the nikoplex reticle and side focus. Ill be at the range wed and cant wait

How much cleaning should i do or not do on this barrel before i start shootin?

I wiped mine clean a couple of times and went to town. Then gave it a good cleaning when finished.

Dang it, this thread has given me the bug for a stainless Tikka.....If I bought one, my hunting rifle collection would be complete (momentarily...).
