picked up my Ruger 10/22 the day before Independence Day. Hooray!

what should I do with it, tinkering wise?

Stick a little 4X scope on it and shoot the heck out of it.

I mounted a red dot sight and bought lots of hi-cap mags. It's not even funny how lethal that combination is.

Next up for me is a trigger group.

would a 10/22 become uncomfortable for me to shoot if I shortened its stock for my wife and kid?

and is stock-shortening a standard work item for gunsmiths?
