...For my 686. Ordered on 4-26 on Ebay. Got them today. That is about typical for grips from Thailand. These are Rosewood. I now have 3 sets of this style.

My goal was to set this one up like my model $617

Here is the 3rd set on my model 15.
This was actually the first set I got back in about 2013. I had them on both my 686 and 617 at some point over the past 7-8 years

They look great. I am afraid to order a set as my fingers never seem to match the finger grooves on any handgun grip except my Gen 3 G34s. They sure as heck aren’t as pretty as those grips on your revolvers @Jonesy814

Great looking grips! I'm like Pat Riot; with my smaller size hands I'm very hesitant to try any kind of finger grooves on grips, either on a revolver or with a semi-auto. I would definitely have to try them first before I bought a pair.

@bannockburn Lots of different styles from Thailand, not all have finger grooves.

Since they sell you the actual one you see in the picture, I perused for a while until I found a set with a beautiful wood grain pattern.
Yes, many of them are fairly bland but if you check them all you can find one with nice grain. I have stripped and refinished a couple sets and sometimes they used a red tinted "clear coat". The finish actually obscures the grain

Absolutely Gorgeous!

I had an elderly friend who asked "Why do you always change grips"?

I told him it differentiates my gun from everyone else's.
And it makes em fit my hand better.
I have very few guns that have the original stocks.

Ironic that the OP should post today.

I found a fantastic deal on a Hogue grip for my old Taurus Model 689.

I figured they would be more comfortable to grip than my old Thai grips I've had on there forever.

They arrived on my porch today.

Nope.

The Thai grips went right back on.

Oh well, the Hogues only cost me $10.

A lot of my revolvers were bought used and no longer had the original grips. I like wood grips and I shoot my guns so grips that look good and feel good are the goal and these work

I have two sets of Thai grips for my beloved model 15. I switch them back and forth periodically depending upon what I feel like on that day.
Both sets fit well and have good grain. Well worth the price and the long wait. IMG_1492.JPG IMG_1514.JPG

Smith is a police trade in. Many coffee shops, donut shops, traffic tickets and not much shooting. Happily for the cop. Outside has 'character', inside, like new.
Photos do not show it, but I relieved a part of the upper left of each grip to give clearance for an arthritic thumb joint. Helps a lot to fit to my well worn hand. (kinda like my revolver, but I wish I had like new internals)
