Got to try a Hi-Point C9(?) today.

Why on earth it's a single stack in a package that huge, I'll never know, but here's what I saw:

The slide felt smooth enough, the sights worked just fine and the trigger broke clean at about 5 or maybe 4 pounds.

This was after the guy had put 100 trouble free rounds through it and my five didn't malfunction either.

For less than 200 bucks that's a pretty sweet gun!
 
They aren't for everyone but I can speak for their customer service/warranty and must admit both are wonderful. I have a couple friends that bought them and they are decent firearms. It doesn't matter if you are the third owner of the gun if it flys apart highpoint will take the pieces and send you a new one. Can't say that about many others if any.
 
Look at the torture test on YouTube. Not sure what the link is but it took having a bolt drove into the muzzle and then fired to cause a major malfunction. These guys were shooting some +++p handloads that would have made any 9mm cry and it kept on with no issues.
 
They're ok. I've fired both the 9mm and .40S&W versions. Both were accurate and had no issues while I was firing them (the 9mm one is owned by a family member and has since had the magazine spring snap in half though), but overall I personally just can't get past the ergonomics and some of the materials (zinc slide), so I doubt I'll ever own one myself unless a REALLY good deal comes along on a used one.

Personally I'd like to see what Hi-Point could do if they tried their hand at making a slightly more "normal" pistol instead, but still budget. IE, locked breech double stacked with a steel slide. I'm sure it would cost more, but I'd be more willing to give such a gun a try personally.

I was skeptical until I purchased one for myself. Now I am hooked
on them. Looking into maybe getting another carbine :D
 
Glad to see this post, last Hi-Point I looked at was several years ago and it looked more like a nice paper weight or boat anchor. If they are performing as you describe I might have to look at them again.
 
I have the .45 one, it's not bad, that accuracy wasn't as good as i had hoped it would be but it was good enough, and the only time it ever had any issues was when my uncle was using it, and then when i tried it it worked fine so i don't think the gun was to blame.......
 
Members of my family own a total of 3 Hi Point pistols and 2 of the Carbines.
We have never had a single problem with any of them. All continue to shoot
flawlessly and are highly accurate. The best part of owning one is knowing
that if anything goes wrong you can just send it back for repair FREE of charge.
 
My son has the 9mm and 45acp carbines- they shot great and i may have to pick up one the 45acp carbines myself.
 
bud's still out of stock on the 9mm Hipoints :(

it's over a month now!

come on restock!!!!!
 
from what I hear via connections at hi point they are not producing new c9 models at this time. not sure if that's because they are modifying the c9 design, or if they are concentrating on other things and will be producing more c9's sometime in the near future.
For now, watch places like gunbroker.com or your local gun shows...
