GPR day two

Things went much better today, after some initial problems getting the first charge to go bang, I dropped a couple grains of powder under the nipple and that got it cleared out. Fired first try every time for the 10 shots I took, didn't have as mich time as I would have liked.
I've got it sighted in pretty good now and can hit the X ring pretty reliably from around 35 yards on an official 100 yard target. I'll have to upgrade from the stock sites, or try targets other than black to get out to 100 yards I think. Its not real easy to make out the black target over dark grey sights, especially as wide as they are. Don't think its my eyesight, supposed to have 20/20 vision

I also got my older brother in on it. He let out a "holy S#it" when he saw me shoot it the first time, and said it was really cool with the sound and the smell and everything. Then he shot it once and let out a bigger "holy s#it" before walking away with a big grin. I'm planning on taking him and a few first timers out to shoot my marlin .22, and the GPR in the near future to try and get a few more people hooked on shooting

Glad you are enjoying & getting others to enjoy the benefits of making smoke.
For sights, on my Lyman Deerstalker carbine, I converted my front sight to a shotgun tritium night sight & the rear to a T/C peep. I could have just used fiber optics & the Lyman peep but then I would have a gun like everybody else

I'm definitely having a good time with it. I just hope we get some more nice weather this fall!

Thanks for the tips on sights, I'll have to think about the fiber optic ones. I have fiber optic sights on an air rifle (gamo 220 hunter) that I really like, but I dont' know if I want to do that to my GPR. I spent so much time with the oil finish on the stock and heat coloring the hardware and browning the barrel....just doesn't seem right I may try and file the front blade down into a sharper bead, or look at some of the more traditional stuff lyman has to offer. Or I may go neon....I do like using them, tough decision.
