Felt like taking a couple pics

holster for this thing is so long it’s hard to sit down! owb on Velcro outer belt but it’s impressively quiet with 147g fed HST so I wish I could find a better way to carry

In retrospect, I let the aesthetics of the silencerco Osprey with the cz scorpion micro rail override the functionality of a round suppressor. One can spin off a round suppressor any time for storage or transport or cleaning. But the rectangular Osprey (which sounds fantastic) requires a tool to remove the rail which makes it somewhat difficult to transport in various luggage.

Looks good. What holster is that for the Maxim?

I dig the notion of this thread.

I've been casting about for which direction to go for a moderately suppressed woods-carry. Gun, caliber and holster.

I'm leaning towards a 1911 platform 9x23 with a G.I. shoulder rig which is already my favorite woods gun.

I don't care to have Mossad-level, whisper quiet but rather to not be heard two valleys over if I light one off.

    Todd.

I thought about this a long time and really liked the HK tactical pistol with suppressor, but when FN came out with their FNP 45 Tactical, and the silencerco osprey, I had to go that direction. I don't need whisper quiet, but it was. Then when I switched from 45acp carry gun to 9mm, and swapped all my reloading over, that awesome gun sat in the safe for years while I cast about for something similar in 9mm. Took me until last year to give the maxim9 a try, and I'm glad i did

I'll try to take some pics soon of the FNP45 and suppressor.

Aside from my not necessarily entertaining the notion of a factory-ready pistol, sounds like we're about simpatico on the concept.

My only nod towards not being *silenced* is that I fully intend to shoot hi velocity through it too.

Absolutely. I’m just shooting my normal defense or plinking load. So with 45acp that’s not an issue because it’s still subsonic. With 9 it’s a lot different. I had to switch from 115g to 147g. Took a while cause I had just ordered another 15k 115g.

Well if it is just gratuitous, I'll add this odd-ball of mine:

    _P1040846.jpg

Not very practical on that shotgun with that ammo, but it is a 12g suppressor called the A12, from A-TEC in Norway. The gun is a Bora Arms BR99, made in Turkey.

This one is the real deal though:

    upload_2021-5-6_22-17-52.png

That's a T/C R55 Benchmark with an A-TEC CMM6 rimfire suppressor. A great combination for shooting on the bench!

Is your Maxim 9 in the short configuration with that holster or is it full length?

We can't get the Salvo here, because of ITAR restrictions if I remember correctly. The A12 isn't modular so I guess the Salvo has that advantage.

That's certainly a long gun to carry. I know a guy at a gun shop that carries one in the short configuration. Still long, but it's less than 1" longer than a 1911 in the short configuration.

Here are two of my suppressors. A 22 LR Tac-65, and a Gemtech Multimount 9MM.
That 22 combo gets lots of range time and brings a smile to my face and pretty much everyone that has tried it.
As I always say, it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Otherwise you'd likely burn the naughty or private bits.

Oh, I forgot to mention the hosts. The 9MM is on a Glock 19 with a Lone Wolf barrel. The 22 is a Colt (Walther) Gold Cup 1911. It quickly replaced my Walther P22 as my favorite host. The 9MM if usually on the Glock 17.

Two stamp gun: a 10” Ruger 10/22 with a Silencerco Spectre II and a chopped ProMag folding stock. I think this is the only ProMag product I own and I actually like it quite a bit.

The stamp cost more than the gun ;) but since it was a gift from my FIL my total investment in the rifle was just the barrel threading, scope and stock. And the stamp, of course.

I don’t regret the investment at all. It handles more like a handgun but the accuracy is more like a rifle. And I can shoot off my deck all day and the neighbors have no idea.
