Went to the club range to shoot the AR's with a buddy. We heard a bunch of shooting over at the pistol bays. It ended up being Ken Hackathorn having a private 1911 training course. After they were done and everybody picked up what brass they wanted and left my buddy and I went over to see if there was any brass left. We picked up around 2400 45 auto cases. My buddy doesn't shoot 45 so I got them all. The good news is they will be there again tomorrow, and so will we.

I had a great day too. Beautiful weather here in Georgia today; clear, no wind, upper 60's. Truly awesome.

Was shooting at my club in Gainesville and this 80 year old guy comes over from the next bay. We start chatting. I look at his badge and see his membership number is 2 !! He told me he's a retired pharmacist and shoots 6 days a week. Tells me about all the brass he picks up when he runs out of things to shoot. Then he looks at me and says "What are you shooting?" I tell him 38 Super. He asks if I want some mixed brass, goes to his car trunk and comes back with a quart freezer bag of 38 Super brass !!

What could be better than free brass you don't even have to pick up ?

Crappy day for me, but with a fantastic ending. Went out to my private gun club to find out that the range was being borrowed for the day by our county sherriffs deputies to shoot ARs. After a few minutes of BSing we came around to reloading. They helped me pick up all the brass they had there and told me to come back around 4 and they would be done. I went back and they had picked up all the brass and saved it for me. Each and every one of them(12 in all) apologized me for the inconvenience today and thanked me for my understanding. Top quality LEOs on my county dept to be sure.

I only found a little bit of brass yesterday, but I did find a bullet that my Colt 1911 shoots like a laser. Seriously accurate! :D
