Take some new glasses, add an accurate gun along with an experienced shooter and that equals one ragged hole at 20 yards!

Outstanding shooting sir!

Best target of the day. Most were close though. I tend to drift back to a 6:00 hold if I shoot too long in a day. Too many years shooting bullseye.

The Kimber was bought new in '97. Since then I replaced all the parts with Wilson Hardcore parts. The only originals are the frame, slide, barrel, & bushing. Everything else is Wilson.

But oddly enough, I never replaced the sights. Narrow front blade and dead on at 25yds from the factory. Only weapon I have that didn't get a sight change.

Lapped the bore, frame, & slide right after I got it. Tightened up the barrel/slide fit a bit. Recut the crown a touch, and a light polish here and there. Its put well over 10k downrange without a hitch. Good springs and clean as needed.

I do wish I could find a reputable shop that can nitride it the way I want. Having a problem with finding someone to do that.

Since I found those elk stag grips I've toyed with a refinish. Looked into most of the finish options and settled on Melonite. But only after some metal work. Ball cut, checker the front strap, serrate the slide top. A few other things before the melinite treatment.

The problem is, everybody wants to polish up the inside. Everything is fitted perfectly and I'd like to keep it that way. They all have their methods, and that's fine. But the work I want done isn't cheap, I'm willing to pay a premium to get just what I want without messing with the insides.

It doesn't look bad. Most of the original finish is worn off. She gets a touch up with Brownells Oxpho Blue when she starts looking raggedy again.

I sure would like to get it a good refinish.

Thank you for the kind words. Its been a while since I had a target that was worth bragging on a bit.
