First, about my first competitive experience -- I stank. Everything from smooth trigger pull to appropriate stance fundamentals went out the window when that clock started ticking. Hmm...interesting implications for an even more adrenaline infused situations like, say, defending your life or the life of my child. I must train more. I want to show myself better in the competitions, but more, I want to have muscle memory really working in my favor in more serious situations.
Second, a man convince the range owner to let his about 9-10 year-old participate in the competition with a full size XD9. The kid stood up there and smoked most of us including his dad. It was so cool. I loved it.
