    Hi
I have large hands, and a new stainless Single Six. I was wondering if anyone had a grip maker that made standard grips for the gun, that weren't super-expensive, but nice.

Gun cost 500 dollars, don't want to spend half again that for a set of custom grips.

    Thanks

    P

I'm not sure what you mean by "standard"..but surely you are familiar with Pachmeir's presentation grips. They fully enclose the grip frame of a single six, making the grip considerably larger.
My single -six and a couple of blackhawks wear them. They look pretty good on a stainless gun too.

I think the single six takes the same grips as the blackhawk, right ? If so, I might have the perfect answer. I had a set of Badger Customs on the SBH I had. They look beautiful, and are DEFINITELY made for big hands. Price is about $80.. I'm not sure if that fits your price range, but they are well worth it my opinion. He makes them for the Single Six/BH size as well, and I assume the grip itself is the same size just a different cut. Here's the link.

I don't have the SBH anymore, but I do have 4 or 5 sets of BC grips on my S&W wheelguns. The rosewood is particularly nice.

Here's a pic of my old SBH so you can see just how big those grips really are. They're huge, and fatter than you might expect...and that's on a big .44mag.

Jim Badger is a great guy to deal with.

He'll custom make them to fit your hands and still charge the regular price.

Badger Custom grips are great, I have them on several of my J frame revolvers. If I had the money they would be on all my revolvers...
