grizzly bear and shotgun fail

It seems a weekly topic, so I'll just leave this here.



Two shotgun shells to the head/face at a dozen feet, and the bear still charges after the man.
 
I hate to see that! That man's an idiot imho. Why didn't he just wait until the mother and cubs left his home area instead of charging at her. The mother bear did what any mother bear would do to protect her cubs. I hope he gets charged and that the judge throws the book at him. Nothing but a show-off.

No Milt, I don't think he was a "show-off" but he DID use poor judgement. Now, if he had some of those "cracker" shells that they use to scare off roosting birds, he could have lobbed one of those right over her where it would pop and scare the "feces" out of her and/or the cubs. By being over her it would also be less likely that she would have associated the noise with the shooter.

An idiot and a show-off to his wife (who I believe was filming him safely from the home. Should have left mom alone she would have left or at minimum call the authorities. The guy lives in bear country, this was most likely not his first time with a bear on his property.
