Gun Cleaning....love it or hate it?

Yep and say you want to push 1000 rounds thorough a gun at the range. You wouldn't stop at 500 and give it a cleaning.
I've always wondered how common the "shoot x number of times and then clean" crowd really is. It must be difficult to keep up with the round count. I have seen where people keep track though.

I've even read all over gun forums where people "break in a gun" by shooting x numbers of time, clean, shoot y number of times, clean, and so on. But I've never seen someone cleaning a gun at the range. Not calling anyone a liar, of course, but I question how commonly people really clean their guns.

I am all for not cleaning it until it needs it. Besides, a revolver looks great with the carbon marks on the cylinder:

I take pride in every gun I own and YES, I clean after every use! I like them to look nice and also to be clean and always ready for use with virtually no risk of a jam etc. I shoot all of my guns frequently and shoot around 400 to 500 rounds total every week. Never had a fail to feed and never had a misfire in 40 years! i reload all of my own Ammo and like to think that careful reloading and cleanliness of the gun are the major reasons. Each to his own but I like clean guns!
