Both H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446 passed the House.

We need a couple of days before conflicting reports and an official vote list identifies which House members voted for and against the bill. We can then develop plans to address those that voted against our interests.

What this means for us is that we have work to do to convince enough Senators to keep the equivalent Senate bills (unidentified) from passing the Senate. Focus letter, email, and phone calls on those Senators who are in states that have a strong 2a tradition and those who are up for election in 2022.

The sky is not falling, but it certainly has clouded up. Reach out to your Senators and make it clear that you are opposed to any bills based on these.

The previous thread on the House bills had good language for letters to "public servants". Just remember that we need to find out what the Senate bills are and change the language in the examples (any example) from HR to Senate designation.

Both Rounds and Thune from South Dakota are staunch 2a supporters. That does not mean they will let a single issue control everything they do. They will choose their battles. Meanwhile, there is plenty of work to be done.

H.R. 8 votes https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/201999
H.R. 1446 https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/202177

Golden from Maine and Kind from Wisconsin were the Democrats that voted against 1446 while Smith from NJ and Fitzpatric from PA were the Republicans that voted for.

Buchanan of FL, Diaz-Blart of FL, Fitzpatric of PA, Hurd of TX, King of NY, Mast of FL, Smith of NJ, Upton of MI, voted for H.R. 8 while Golden of Maine and Peterson of Minnesota were the Democrats that voted against it.

Now we know without conjecture which members of the House voted for and against these bills.

That's really interesting. Previous reports said Salazar and Gimenez voted for H. R. 8, which I couldn't believe. Thanks for posting this.

Previous reports

Which is why it is important to wait for the official count. I had to wait for the roll call record to go up and then put it all in spreadsheets and sort them to be sure of who voted how for what.

We need to thank the people who made the correct vote as much as we need to oppose those that voted against the 2A and to do that we need to know who "crossed" to our side when it came time to vote as much as those that crossed to the other.

The two vulnerable Dem votes in the Senate are Manchin (WV) and Tester (MT).

But if Dems can get enough Republicans for a cloture vote, it’s all over anyway.

Given that Arizona just became a Second Amendment sanctuary state, I think Sinema might be persuadable.
