I am trying to find some quotes from women for gun rights. I've been at it for 45 min and google is just giving me a bunch of women's rights quotes (not that there's anything wrong with that). Can anyone help me with some gun rights quotes from women? Reason being is that I work with all women and some have shown interest in owning a gun and I'm looking for useful quotes from other women to help sway them in the right direction.

Very much appreciated,

Look up the video of Suzanna Gratia Hupp's testimony on youtube. I don't recall any specific "sound bites", but the entire thing is pretty powerful, given what she's been through.

Also, try looking up quites that deal more with women's defense or safety, rather than specifically focusing on gun rights. For instance, a few tries on google netted me these:

"A woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself." - Susan B. Anthony

"Safety is not a gadget but a state of mind." - Eleanor Everet

"Women are quite able to see to their own defense, as long as the law does not transform them into criminals if they take effective measures to do so." - "Testostérone et contrôle des armes" , Le Devoir, February 19, 1999, p. A-11

Not quite a real quote by a real woman (a fictional female character, in a book written by a man):

Eowyn in "The Two Towers": "The women of this country learned long ago, those without swords can still die upon them."

You can quote my mom. One time at the kitchen table discussion, she came out with, "Well, if the government has them (machineguns), I think you should be able to have them." Mom and Dad were always dyed in the wool Democrats, but from a different era. They might not like what the Democratic party has become now.

In reference to concealed carry permits.

"If we don't take advantage of this law, 'they' will say "Look, no one wanted this law in the first place. Let's repeal it." "

On open carry.

"If we don't exercise the rights we have, we will lose them."

Both of them from my wife. CajunsMisty.

Here is something from our friend Officers'Wife. She did not say it herself but it was said by some Saudi College student she met a long time ago. I believe you can find it on this forum as well...

Strong countries breed strong women and weak ones keep their women hidden

Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley,
raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally
superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker
got that fatal bullet wound.

Women must not depend upon the protection of
man, but must be taught to
protect herself.
- Susan B. Anthony, July 1871

This isn't really on gun rights, but concerns the right of self defense (of which gun rights are a part):

"It is only as retaliation that force may be used and only against the man who starts its use. No, I do not share his evil or sink to his concept of morality: I merely grant him his choice, destruction, the only destruction he had the right to choose: his own. He uses force to seize a value; I use it only to destroy destruction."

"The principle of using force only in retaliation against those who initiate its use, is the principle of subordinating might to right."

Both of these by Ayn Rand.

“Tell the American people never to lose their guns. As long as they keep guns in their hands, what happened here will never happen there.” - A female student from Red China, passing along her parents’ final message before she escaped.

“Keep your guns. And buy more guns. And make sure you have plenty of ammunition.” – South Dakota resident Kitty Werthmann, who grew up in Austria during Nazi rule, during a presentation entitled “Socialism vs. Freedom” in which she compared life in that period to the freedoms enjoyed in America.

“It is easier for my husband to get me out of jail than out of the cemetery.” - Anonymous young Texas housewife’s reply to being chastised for illegally carrying a gun.

“The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.” - Ayn Rand

“Equality is the result of human organization. We are not born equal.” - Hannah Arendt, 1906-1975

“America is at that awkward stage. It is too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.” - Claire Wolfe

“Those who can’t think, fight.” - Heather Graham

“But I don’t buy into ‘smart gun’ technology because you can’t argue that manufacturers must incorporate speculative technology.” - Kristen Rand, VPC

“There are more armed men in the woods on opening day of deer season in Pennsylvania than there are federal agents, and that gives me a feeling of great comfort.” - overheard from the (presumed female) driver of a child-filled station wagon

I love that one!
