Todays NY Times had an article about how gun sales are up all over the country. Based on interviews they conclude it's due to the political climate caused by the presidential election.

A number of gun shop owners and buyers said they feared future encroachment on their rights and were buying now. Elsewhere in the paper an article noted a double digit decline in general sales throughout the country.

The article was not biased in any way I could percieve.

There was also a 2 page article there today on black powder hunting that I could only say was positive.

    Worth a read

    How nice.

Helmke basically called into question the character of anyone that has gone out and bought firearms because of legitimate concerns about future availability.

Anybody that fears another AWB and just wants to make sure they have an EBR before they possibly can't anymore is dangerous. According to this brilliant individual.

    Little weasel.

Has anybody else out there noticed an upwards swing int the number of gun-related stories (accidential shootings, reports of guns on college campuses, stories like the two above, etc.) appearing lately? Is it just me or does it seem that there is a deliberate effort to spotlight guns and gun owners, especially when they can be presented in a negative light?

Or is it just that my tinfoil hat is on too tight again? :scrutiny:

I too have noticed the increase in firearm related stories.

I had my hair replaced with tinfoil plugs. I'm not just a customer, I'm the president.

Went by the Sportsman's Warehouse this afternoon, and noticed that the wall where the handguns hang had a conspicuous crop of new pegs, with just a few guns.I asked about it and the sales guy said that Tuesday thru Friday, was as hectic as he's ever seen it. He said that if it will go "BOOM" it sold. Personally I go for the FtoF sales and avoid the paperwork.
