Gun stickers on cars

Many years ago an anti-gun group told its members to smash the windows and damage the body work of cars with NRA stickers, and the state police were told by the (then) governor to give "special attention" to cars with pro-gun stickers (i.e., find an excuse to stop the cars and arrest the drivers)*. I may be a coward, but I had to leave my car unattended so I took off my NRA sticker. Why invite trouble just to make a point when the vandals and the corrupt police will get away with criminal activity?

*A new governor stopped that nonsense and it has not (AFAIK) been revived, but some state officials would probably still support it.

The last time I was called up for jury duty one of the questions asked was "What bumper stickers do you have on your car?"

Rather sneaky way to evaluate a person's mind set during voir dire questioning.

If you want to avoid jury duty just state: "I believe in Jury Nullification."
But just think; do you want to be judged by a jury of your peers, or just a jury of those that had nothing better to do?

Yup, or your house. Follow me home, then wait for me to leave. Lots of goodies inside.

I take off factory badges and extraneous trim that isn't needed. So I'm not about to put stickers on my vehicles. All they do is draw unwanted attention. To each their own but I find it best to not advertise.

Though I'm never thrilled to be on jury duty, I always try to do my best while there. Basically I want to be the model juror that I would hope would be on my jury should I ever need to be on trial (which hopefully would never happen).

"I have a LEATHERMAN....
....
....
............ I can help" ( ) Yes ( ) No

No stickers on any of ours (maybe AAA) but I do like this one. I have a local limited reputation for being ready for many different situations.

wow I am surprised of all the negative opinions of posting an NRA or Military type sticker I guess I am lucky in my area lots of these type of stickers and
folks are proud to have I served or I am a Vet stickers some even drive around
with a mounted flag on their truck folks open carry too !!
I guess it depends on your local environment where you live ,
Flags are on folks pouch and so on , but their is a lot of serving, have served, and retired service folks here, The last county report estimated that
68 % carry concealed :what:

I had 3 stickers on mine in the past. Magpul, NRA and Remington. Never had a problem. I don't have a problem with people putting stickers on their vehicles, gun related or not. I have more of a problem with sexually suggestive things being on people's cars and trucks. I personally don't mind it, however, I do not care to have a ten year old ask me what the 2 stick figures are doing or what certain phrases mean.

It took me more than a while to figure out that the cars with the gold = stickers weren't being driven by Lieutenants who put them on sideways...

My Subaru has an NRA sticker in the corner of the rear window. Nobody seems to care so far.

I really need the 21st American English translation of stuff like that Might as well be a foreign language to me.

As you wish:

21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”

22 Jesus answered, “What is it to you, if I want him to live until I return? You must follow me.”

NRA, someone kicked my other car 3 weeks ago that has no sticker on it while parked. So I don't think it means a thing. Some peope are just jealous animals. I have a good dent removal guy in Vero if anyone needs him, cost me a big $50 bucks.

I've never had good luck with bumper stickers. As I said earlier someone vandalized my car over a bumper sticker, I know the sticker was the trigger because the damage centered there.

I've had people want to debate me over bumper stickers on my car. I even had some crazy, drunk, bastard follow me down Palmer Park Boulevard yelling at me because he didn't like my Cabella's bumper sticker and it set him off.

There was even a story in the local news about a Field grade officer from Ft. Carson who was caught spray painting F bombs on people's cars at DIA. He was targeting cars with Bush bumper stickers. You would think an O5 would know better than to piss away his career like that.

I can tell you all that happened but more importantly I can tell you it STOPPED COLD the day I took the bumper stickers off my car. Cause and effect

Apparently, there's a rule up here in Washington that if one is driving a Volvo, Suburu or Prius, it's gotta sport either an "Obama-Biden" or "Hillary" bumper sticker.

Seriously, though, while I really like a lot of my firearms and gear, I'm not going to advertise these companies for free on my automobiles. Now, maybe if Colt, S&W or Winchester want to pay me a couple hundred bucks a week, I'll put one of their logos on my back window, for sure.

As far as slogans go, i.e., "From my cold, dead hands" or "Gun control means using both hands,", etc., I can see the antagonistic effects there ... Hell, I get dirty looks just driving my big ol' Chevy pick-up in certain areas of Seattle. I'm afraid an NRA decal or other gun-related sticker might just cause some Birkenstock-wearing Mercer Island or Bellevue liberal to go crazy and attack my vehicle with his or her pipe, $500 purse or Labradoodle ...

I see vehicles with anything from just one NRA sticker to nearly a whole rear window covered with gun, veteran, NRA, and political stickers.

At one time I actually cared what others put on their vehicles. Yet in the last year or so, I just figure it's that person's vehicle and they can do whatever and take whatever risk upon themselves.

What made me change my mind was one day while working in a part of town with a lot of high risk jobs, I saw another set of those big truck testicles. I came to the conclusion that those guys that climb tall towers and risk being wiped out in possible accidental explosions certainly are worthy of those oversize testicles.

Then you have a very good friend of mine that works in the same petro-chem industry. The back of his truck (sans testicles, btw) might offend some in a different way. That would be due to his 82nd Airborne sticker and his Jesus sticker.

So, sticker up your vehicle if it's what you want to do. If anything, it tells me more about you while I'm stuck behind you in traffic. I get to have a first impression of you without every having to say "hi" to you.

I don't think badly of those who put such stickers on their vehicles, but it's not for me. It's not like people driving down the road are going to change their opinions on the matter one way or the other. They don't care. Which means the only people I'd be impressing would be potential criminals.
agree with azrocks, it's just not for me.

A sticker on your truck is certainly no worse than some of the things I've seen posted on the internet with regards to exposure to theft or reprisal for owning firearms.

I don't even putting hunting stickers on my truck .

I will have to admit that I like seeing gun stickers and hunting stickers on other peoples vehicles though . I saw a Glock sticker and a shooting range sticker on a little yellow car today ( looked like a young woman's car ) in the bay next to me while I was getting my motorcycle inspected .

Read the sixth amendment, Randy. The word "Peers" isn't in it. You have a "right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed...."

You do not have a right to a jury of your peers. You have a right to a jury of your neighbors.
