Gun stickers on cars

Well, the thugs have figured out what all the stickers mean: http://www.alloutdoor.com/2016/08/24/hunting-vehicles-targeted-thieves/

They are ransacking vehicles in parking lots at gun shows, etc. Maybe what tips them off is the Yeti sticker that someone has more money than common sense.

Anyway, stickers do communicate a message to others, do you accept the consequences or just blow it off? A truck covered with adverts from high end suppliers is saying something to somebody.

I see it as largely oneupmanship, which can be taken as a taunt to some. It appears they are noticing. Regardless, it's your choice, sticker up as you see fit. If you make a mistake and life ransacks your vehicle over it, OK, reassess and make a new decision. There are lots of stickers out there.

YMMV.

Trucks covered in stickers for hunting and guns parked at a hunting show and parked at a gun show...

"Which vehicles hit were the favorite? At that gun show, twelve trucks were broken into and every one of them were Ford F-150s or 250s with pushbutton entry keypads on the doors. The thieves had knowledge of how to pop those keypads out of the door and disable them to unlock the trucks."

When you have a parking lot full of vehicles at a gun show, I doubt they need stickers to figure out which vehicles are owned by people with gun interests.

Your employers randomly search the privately-owned vehicles of their employees???
My employer does the same . They have even brought in drug sniffing dogs to search the lockers . I know of 3 people that have been fired for having a gun found in their car and 1 for having pot in his locker .

It is interesting to connect the comments to the location of the poster.

1. Some don't want to....fine:)
2. Some do want to....great
3. Some live in a liberal combat zone and don't want to suffer consequences....:fire:

Last time I live in a combat zone, I got combat pay.

Semper Fi and Roll Tide!

The last time I was called up for jury duty one of the questions asked was "What bumper stickers do you have on your car?"

Rather sneaky way to evaluate a person's mind set during voir dire questioning.

If you want to avoid jury duty just state: "I believe in Jury Nullification."
But just think; do you want to be judged by a jury of your peers, or just a jury of those that had nothing better to do?

Two 7-11's and a cathouse would do about three times as much good for the world in a week as the U.N. does in a year.

Now that's good.

States that prohibit NFA items

That isn't really an example of state law superceding federal law.

Just because one level of government allows something that doesn't mean that lower levels of government are not allowed to prohibit it or control it differently (unless there is a specific preemption deal in the law)

"States where Pot has been legalized? "

Still illegal at the federal level and a federal officer can arrest for possession or use if they want to. It may not be pushed at this time but that could change according to perceived need

And to go back on topic; I don't like bumper sticker on my vehicles so I have none. But my wife of 40 some years has always kept two stickers on her back window. One was a S&W sticker and the other was a Harley Davidson. That way they would think she had a gun and was willing to use it.

To avoid being a target of thieves we all should adapt the "shabby genteel" lifestyle of upperclass late 19th/early 20th Century New Englanders who considered it infra dignatatem to engage in flashy displays of wealth or status, the sort of thing the tacky nouveau riche did to show off their unearned accidental wealth. Set our tables with the well-worn silverware inherited from great-grandmother on clean but washed-out napkins, keep your candle under a basket, that sort of thing.

Dress down, no bling, make no waves, be the envy of no one, drive a ten-year old car, try to pass through life unseen and unnoticed, leaving no sign of our passing and no influence on anyone, and heaven forbid, express no opinions that someone else might find offensive especially the someones who insist on shoving their opinions on everyone else.

(As far as gun control supporters trashing vehicles with NRA stickers, or cops ordered to target vehicles with gun stickers for special attention? I would like to see links to notable, reliable sources on that happening. I haven't seen that in Tennessee. Where does it happen (documentation please)?)

I know of at least one instance where one round of ammunition found led to dismissal. Technically against company policy, but a bit heavy handed, IMO.
