Be nice to your local gun shop.
If you KNOW that something is worth some major bucks, and they don't, and you don't _really_ want it, let them know about it. For instance, one place I usually go doesn't do all that much with varmint guns, but they know o/u shotguns real good... If they have an "unknown manufacturer" varmint gun, unless I'm really in the market for it (sigh... I'm only as honest as the next fellow...), they're going to get a fair market appraisal...
