I just got back from a small but established one man gun store that is well known in salt lake city.

It barely looked any different from the time I was in there a week before the election. A couple of ARs and AKs had been sold but other than that the shelves weren't bare. He had raised the price on stripped lowers  but he had three of them. He had raised the price on Glock 30 rounders to $50 bucks :fire: but at least he had one. Two rock rivers were sitting on the shelf along with a century galil, an RPK type, and a few others.

The only thing he told me that reflected the panic was when he said that ordering any AR or AK was a joke. Forget about it. No suppliers had any. Masterpiece Arms couldn't even answer the phone they were so busy.

While I was there, at least double the foot traffic was apparent. Lots of talking but most of the assault weapons were still there.

Bottom line, just like always, most "men" nowadays are all talk and no action. The reason suppliers have run out of some guns is only because of the nature of the gun industry i.e. that the gun industry is not high volume. Suppliers CAN'T stock too much or they'll go bankrupt.

Why is the gun industry very low volume, even in a country of what 100 million alleged men? Because most "men" nowadays are either at the mall, or blowing their $$$ on video games, or putting gel in their hair, or spending hundreds to try and impress some high maintenance skirt, or blowing their $$$ on alcohol and cigs, or have to be nagged for years before they ever get a gun. We all know these guys and we all know they outnumber us.

Gun suppliers/distributors know that they have to deal with modern men's severe motivational problems. Well the election brought some motivation and the suppliers were motivated within a day. This isn't because there's a massive surge in men FINALLY growing a pair and getting proper militia equipment, it's because the gun suppliers can't afford to sit on very many guns at a time.

That's an attitude sure to win friends and positively influence people towards shooters and gun owners, all right. You might want to look at the masthead here again- maybe you've forgotten where you are??

    You forgot another possibility:

Most men bought their EBR's long before others panicked.;)

Gotta admit two things. That probably the dumbest and funniest thing I will have read today. :neener:

Which is worse, the guys buying video games or the keyboard commandos complaining about them on the internet? In another thread you just asked for scans of dated receipts for someone who said he just bought a bunch of guns and in this thread you are complaining that people aren't buying enough guns. It's with Lee on this one, not much High Road on this thread.

I had formed some pithy thoughts to type up, but I'm just too busy right now.

My wife just gave me a honeydo list.
I need to go the liquor store get some more rum.
And I have to run to the mall tomorrow to do some Christmas shopping.

Maybe after my haircut I'll sit down over a good bowl of pipe tobacco and respond. Hopefully by then my testicles will have descended.

So did you show the store owner what a real man you are and buy his stuff at his inflated prices? Only a real man would buy from a gun store that tries to use the election to rip people off. So show us the receipts and prove what a man you are.

Are you for real or just trying to stir things up? Is this a joke or are you the joke? You also talk like you have something against women and that makes me question your manhood----Are you gay and only like real men? If you are for real you should consider getting psychological help soon.

"Blow their money on alcohol and high maintenance chicks"

How does that go, "I blew all my money on booze and women, the rest I just wasted"

If I had enough money for booze and high maintenance women, I wouldn't be wasting my time on a gun website! ;>)

I spoke to my local gun shop owner today. His wholesaler has stockpiles of AR's sitting around, but isn't going to let any go for a couple months. They know, as well as the rest of us, whenever Jan. 20 comes manufacturers are going to jack up their prices a little bit.

I'm trying to figure why buying guns and all that other stuff is necessarily mutually exclusive in the OPs mind.

I've got more EBRs than most gun stores (and bought more this week for good measure). And yet, I still find money to blow on vacations, hair gel (hey, at least its not falling out), and dinner & drinks at some of Manhattan's finest establishments impressing the "high maintainance skirts".

So can someone tell me when it became a violation of the Man-Club charter to want to impress the ladies? I don't want to get my Man-card revoked, but if I'll have to give up the women, I don't know that I want to be a member anymore.:D

I heard there was a news report that my local gun shop was out of guns. Of course, I wouldn't put it pass them to create a panic so they could jack up their prices. Do you think congress would be interested in looking into gun price gauging?

I want to follow THE HIGH ROAD

so I will simply say that I think No Fear is being extremely judgmental and I disagree with his apparent attitude I disagree with his negative labeling statements about men. Besides, that sounds somewhat like a political statement to me and there are no political threads sanctioned here.

I think maybe an hour in the nearest bordello would be appropriately therapeutic.

Oops - gotta go, I need to do my nails before my wife gets home.
