This is not a political thread, but it is a place to discus the ongoing effects politics is having on gun availability.

SO:

Days until election -- 69

Location -- Iowa

In chain stores -- Ammo and Pmags on the shelf. No noticeable panic at all.

Local Gun Shop -- ongoing availability problems on CCW/CWP slim 9mm's. He reports no panic.

Online-- 10 day delays in ammo shipment (this must be where it starts.) Some price increases on AKs (in-stock.)

What are you seeing? What are you doing? What do you think? What do you know? How much long do you think until it get's really bad?

I don't know if it anything to with panic or production but u still can't find 22LR ammo with any sort of consistency in any Walmart in south Florida. 6 years of hit or miss, mostly miss. It wasn't like that ever before. I doubt it will ever be like that again.
I'm not talking about ordering 10K rounds on the Internet, I'm taking
about going to Walmart & buying a 525 round box.

I'm fully stocked up on primers, powder and component bullets, so if there is Armageddon, it won't affect me. Unless it last's longer than 2 years.

I'm in the same boat as the poster above. The only commercial ammo I've bought in the last 4 years is 22lr and a couple boxes of .303. I have good stashes of most calibers already. I handload all my typically used centerfires, nothing fancy, just 30-06, 223, 45 ACP, and 44 MAG. Those 4 will do most any job I need.

The only "panic" I see, is for a parking spot at the public ranges. They are over capacity to the extent that I only shoot in the remote desert now.

Don't panic.

Buy components and start reloading.

Can't wait for the day this hobby returns to not reacting/responding with panic because of some election or unfortunate incident.

Hopefully by now most people are figuring out all this fear mongering is B.S. Obama was going to be the end of the 2nd Amendment and what has happened in the last 8 years....nothing!

We're actually in the prime right now, AR prices have never been lower.

Hard to say what the herd will do. The election is not a foregone conclusion months out like the last two, so it seems to be anyone's guess what will happen and how people will react.

Dove season opens tomorrow, then waterfowl and small game, deer, etc. I think I will be free to look around and see what the mass reaction (if any) is some time in early March when all these seasons are over...

Panic... heh.

What's going to happen later this year will redefine the word "panic" to us gun buyers.

Guys, NOW is the time to act. Stack it deep, stack it long. As far as a panic or shortage goes, you ain't seen nothing yet.
