When I was in the Army I shot on the post pistol team.
We were given the then new .45 National Match model
pistols. They had fixed sights and wood grips. Wish I
had one now. They shot real good.

The 8ga Remington Master Blaster would be the most interesting gun I've ever shot. Was fairly boring though, pull a cord and bang, not even a loud bang. :(

I don't think their is any way I could list all the ones I've shot.

I will tell you my LEAST favorite:

Ruger Super Blackhawk in 4 3/4" barrel. I shot it one time and handed it back to the owner.

My bro-in-laws Judge shooting .410

Probably wouldn't consider it a firearm but back in the 1960's I spent six years in a National Guard unit that fired Honest John rockets. A real blast! We fired 1 each year at Camp Drum N.Y. One was enough.

Can't remember all the firearms I've shot but 2 stick out,1 I fired the other I passed. Fired a Ruger No 1 in 375 H&H memorable to say the least turned down a chance to fire a 500 S&W I like my wrists and elbows still attached to my body.

Heck, I can't even begin to remember all of them; I'm a gunsmith. Test firing completed jobs is part of the process. I was an Armorer in the Army, got to fire quite a few different military models that have been mentioned here. I will shamelessly ask someone at the range if I can shoot something I've never shot before, and I reciprocate whenever possible.

I will tell you my LEAST favorite:

Ruger Super Blackhawk in 4 3/4" barrel. I shot it one time and handed it back to the owner.

BTDT. Shot a .41 Mag. 4¾" Blackhawk to start off my wedding day. Only one round. Granted the -20 wind chill may have affected that.:)

You ain't shoot a nasty gun till you shoot a .30 Carbine Ruger Blackhawk.

They put the loudest .44 Mag ever made in the weeds beside the road you road the donkey in on!!

They will make your silver tooth fillings pick up the Old AM radio station that used to be in Del Reo Texas.

A friend, who was a USN Chief Gunners Mate and the USS New Jersey's turret captain on her forward turret, fired all three barrels in a local control exercise in the late 1960's. He told me it was a thrill to close the firing key in the turret's control room feeling the shake of 660 pounds of powder (six 110-lb bags) in each barrel push out 1-ton projectiles in each one. The 2nd and 3rd barrels were each timed by a few thousandts second delay from the previous barrel so they wouldn't bump against each other sideways on their way to the target. That's the biggest gun(s) he's fired, or anybody else I know of.

While not a specific firearm, but I was the first person to shoot an M16 across the standard National Match Course to completion at the 1971 National's DCM leg match. A few other USMC, US Army and one other USN rifle team members also shot it, but I fired the last shot at 600 yards before the others finished.

It is easier to list those that I haven't shot

Gattling gun
Lemat revolver
anything in 7.7 Jap
anti-aircraft gun (Unless you consider surface to air missiles)
and I am sure there are others;) but not that many.

Growing up, there were guns everywhere in the house. My dad was an avid collector, and he let me fire whatever I wanted.
My favorite had to be the Thompson. Semi auto, but still! What a blast!

Firearms Exposure

You are fortunate. I grew up in a state where handgun purchases were illegal.
This all changed when I became an adult. I was well acquainted with hunting rifles and shotguns, and used them frequently.:)
When I moved out of state, and later in my home state, I went CRAZY about handguns and military rifles.
Live long and prosper!:D
Addendum to Postings #82 & 88:
Erma .22 Luger & .380 Baby Luger (don't waste your money)
Davis Derringer .38 Special (lower barrel didn't fire)
C'est la vie, c'est le guerre !

Sorry but I'm too old to try & remember every gun I've ever fired.
Heck, there's probably more than 20 in just the last 5 years.

And I spent 4 years in the Army as a medic.
Anytime anyone fired anything they had to have a medic on board.
I probably heard a gazillion times, "Hey, Doc, you wanna come fire this?"
And of course the answer was ALWAYS - "Heck, ya!"

Lots and lots. I am almost 63 and I have been shooting since my dad had to hold the rifle for me. I could not even begin to remember every handgun I have shot. But I think I can remember the rifles and shotguns.

.22 rifles in pump, bolt action, single shot and semi auto.
Centerfire rifles in semi auto, bolt, single shot in .17 Rem, 223, 243, 308, 30/06, 8 mm, 460 Weatherby and .458 winchester.

And does a grenade launcher count?

Shotguns in 12, 16, 20 and .410 in single shot, bolt action, pump, semi auto, over under and side by side.

Quite a few over many years, including a bunch in the Army. But, the most memorable one was when I was about 14 and shot a Holland and Holland .600 Nitro Express, loaded with their 900 grains solids.

That one would make you sit up and take notice. ;)

L.W.

Two of the most memorable.
I shot a S&W 500 mag.. I also got to do the reloading for that one, which were full throttle magnum loads. That was awesome. The owner never shot it even once, he bought it NIB, and then didn't have the nerve to shoot it after watching me shoot it? Unfortunately he sold it about a month after buying it, what a total waste.

The other, and it's probably not much to some, but I knew a guy that had a TC, and he had a bunch of different barrels for it. It was pretty cool to shoot basically a handgun chambered in 300 WM.

I've shot and hunted with a bunch of really nice shotguns, the super high end stuff. These were extremely difficult to take my hands off of. I had a friend who's Dad collected and hunted with super, super high end shotguns. Franchi, and a bunch of hand made European one of a kinds. Some of the finishes, engravings, and the wood, oh, I get all giddy every time I think about those. This was back in the 70's, and even then these were $10k + shotguns, lots of S/S doubles, a couple O/U's, lots of singles. I lost touch with that fellow back in the late 80's, but I bumped into his son in the early 90's, and his Dad had passed and left him all the SG's, and I got one more opportunity to hunt quail with one of those beautiful SG's. He had at least 75 of them.
