Gunsmith to convert 7600 30/06 to 35 Whelen

Gents,

Im looking for a gunsmith either here on THR or in the Tampa area to rebore a Remington pump rifle to 35 Whelen, cut the barrel to 18 in, and either redo the trigger or swap to Timiney. Will also want a ghost ring installed.

Also...

I don't think there are that many gunsmiths that do re-bores; it maybe more direct to obtain a new barrel in caliber desired.

Call Shane at Republican Arms (850) 233-1186. He might have to outsource some of the work, but has done similar work before.

There is a guy somewhere in the panhandle that makes barrels and rebores. Get ready to open your wallet.

Have you checked gunbroker for a take-off factory 35 barrel?
