anybody shot one of these yet? I was surprised to walk into a local gun store and find one on the shelf. basically HK version of an AR10. after all the fuss over HK416 some years back, i was pretty shocked to see one without having seen 50 threads on this topic for 6 months prior to availability.

it looked pretty cool. i didn't get time to play with it much. i think they wanted $4k for it.

    anybody seen them?

A guy at a Service Rifle competition I recently attended had an H&K MR308. He let me play around with it a bit, and I can say I was very impressed. Quality was top notch and the finish was beautiful. I didn't get to shoot it, so I can't comment on accuracy, but I imagine it would be quite good.

The guy also asked me if I wanted to trade it for my Sig 550, but I refused. :D

H&K uses a proprietary gas-piston system and magazines.

Due to their higher than the competition costs, H&K fanboies are the only ones that talk about it.

    H&K MR762 10 round magazine = $90-100
    H&K MR762 20 round magazine = $120-150

I saw one the other week at a local gun store. It looked pretty sweet but the $3700 price tag did not.

i looked at it again today. it was a 417. proprietary mags seems like a poor choice

I played around with them at the SHOT Show and was very impressed. Even as heavy as any AR 10 variant is, they swing up to the shoulder and point like an A2. The quality really is top notch, if I had the money and liked that sort of thing, I would buy one in a second.
