I was all ready to buy a P30L in 9mm and my out of state brother-in-law insists that I should consider the 226 elite with SRT (short reset trigger). I made the mistake of telling him that I would likely send the P30L off to Springfield for a trigger job and his reply was why not get the Sig 226 Elite with the SRT and be done with it. I want this new gun to come with a good trigger DA/SA or be capable of having good results with reasonable trigger work.

This gun will be used for competition (IDPA)/training, house gun, open carry on my ranch and likely not for CC.

Need some of your thoughts as my personal deadline for purchasing a new high cap pistol is drawing near. Assume price is not a consideration.

No one locally has a P30L or a Sig 226 to handle.

Thanks for your help and ideas!

I would recommend p30L on the basis that you haven't handled them. The p30L is going to have customizable grips. I would guess that grips are harder to change than triggers... but don't quote me on that.
I'd say u can't go wrong w/ either one though

Both are excellent guns. I have owned many Sigs and liked them all, but my P30 is by far my favorite pistol. Its accuracy is only limited by my skill. It feels better in my hand than any other gun I have held (although my Sig 232 with hogue grips was a very close second!) and is built to H&K's legendary standards. If your not going to CC, weight is not as much an issue because Sigs tend to be on the heavy side. The decocker on the H&K is a little different being right next to the hammer although becomes very intuitive after shooting awhile and can be done very easily with one hand.

P30L v.3 ordered

Thanks for the replies.

Just ordered a P30L v.3, should be here Monday!

Any help with where to order extra mags? For IDPA, how many mags would make sense?

Thanks again.
