Does anyone know where to buy a copy of the factory instruction manual for the Harrington & Richardson 25 ACP automatic pistol? A friend of mine recently got a nice one, with what's left of the box, and would like a copy of the instruction sheet (for completeness, not because he needs it for field-stripping). I don't have one, and a quick search here and on Google didn't turn up anything. If somebody has one they'd be willing to xerox, I'd be happy to pay for it. Thanks!

I would be rather surprised if there ever was one, and even more surprised if one were to have survived. In the old days, gun companies printed the instructions, if any, on the box, not in a detailed manual full of red warnings from company lawyers.

Congratulate your friend on being able to obtain one of those little guns. Production stopped during WWI, with something over 16,000 made, but they are very uncommon today.

That would explain why instruction sheets for the H&R 25 are so scarce, JimK. Now that you mention it, those inside-box-top instructions were pretty much standard for the revolvers of that period.

Still, an automatic (or "self loader") requires somewhat more instructions than a revolver, and the box for a 25 ACP pistol must have been pretty puny - they didn't go in for elaborate packaging back then, either. I'll keep scrounging!

And yes, the H&R 25's don't seem to turn up in nice condition very much. As you say, they are now all VERY old.
