H&R sight mount.

I posted this on the rifle forum also.

I'm trying to mount a Viani scope mount on one of my M12's and am having difficulty identifying the fasteners that are holding the base on.




The fasteners have a round hole withwhat looks like a start shape in the bottom.

What kind of tool do I need to remove these fasteners?

They look like Allen screws. If you can't see the internal shoulders, they might be stripped out. The star you see in the bottom is the metal that was displaced when the internal hex was formed. You might try a driving in a Torx bit to screw them out.
