Hammer Screw

The Hammer Screw has started to back out on my Charter Arms Undercover. It has gotten to the point where I have to tighten it after shooting every 50 rounds. I'd rather not pull the gun apart. I'm thinking I can back the screw out to the point where I can see the threads of the hole clearly and carefully apply some sort of Loctite ... What would you recomend I apply to the threads or should I solve this problem in another way ?

Blue Loctite will solve your problem quickly. Several drops on the screw thread will keep it from backing out under recoil and you still can remove it with a screwdriver if need be. A local gunshop should carry it or you can get it from Brownells or MidwayUSA.

Be sure and degrease the threads with solvent or the LT won't work so hot.

Most all auto parts stores sell a version of blue thread locker, usually Permatex or something.
As long as it says "Medium Strength Blue" you are good.
