Ok, so . . . I think I've decided to hang onto my Ruger Impact. Maybe the problem isn't the rifle, but perhaps shooter error. I've been doing a bit of reading, and perhaps gas pistons are easier to shoot well for a beginner? I had a couple of BB/pellet rifles as a kid and thought I shot them OK, but it's been so long that I can safely be called a 'beginner' again.
Anyway, I remembered seeing a couple of pellet guns in Dad's safe, so I went rooting around. One was just a little Crosman pump (760?), age unknown, maintenance probably zero since Dad got it. The other, however, was a Hammerli Storm. You could tell Dad shot it a lot because the scope was on backwards ... I have no idea how long Dad had it, or where it came from. I am fairly certain that it's been sitting in the safe on my Dad's famous Zero Maintenance Program.
I went online, in true Overthinkers Anonymous fashion, and read a bunch of reviews. The only ones I could find were about 10 years old or more. Anybody know anything about these? Got insights you'd care to share?
