^^^^ I've heard on more than one occasion from random folks that the Kahr trigger is like dragging chain over sandpaper (<--someone actually said that).

I guess not?

when this question comes up i say the same thing everytime. give the ruger p345 a hard look, it is the cheapest handgun that i own but the most accurate.

I own three Kahrs and they have some of the nicest DA triggers I've ever felt. Even better than a competition tuned DAO S&W M15

My two favorites:

Ruger for CCW and PX4 for everything else.

Kahr triggers are really really smooth and light with a nice surprise break. A "chain over sandpaper" isn't a very accurate description of a Kahr trigger. The slide action on the other hand...not so smooth especially when it's new. They are just built too tight. I had all sorts of problems with my pm9 for what it's worth. Kahr makes well-built, quality pistols. The catch is you have to get one that works:)

Several wheelgunners suggested their favorite S&W .45 ACPs if you want something different. I will not be an exception. You didn't mention the use, but I'll endorse the S&W N-frame .45 ACP. I own three S&W 625s, a 3", 4", and a 5" barrel and a vintage, but immaculate S&W 25. The sweetest trigger I have ever known is on my S&W Performance Center Jerry Miculek 625, 5" barrel. The gold bead front sight provides quick sight alignment even in dim lighting. I don't have to explain how accurate and reliable it is. And that would be true of the others as well.

Yeah, I could have suggested several semi-autos from SIG, H&K, and SA, but I have more fun with the S&W wheelies. But I warn you. Wheelguns can be habit-forming.

I've seen and heard;) good things about the Bersa Thunder.

I actually own:p two, and this is just not so.

Wiry Irishman, that's a rather ... unique (but functional) bedside holster.

I have a Ruger P345 and a now out of production P97. I can not say enough good things about them. They represent some of the best money I have ever spent on firearms. Both of them are as good or better than 1911 .45's that I have owned that cost 2x as much.

I don't own a .45 of any sort, but if I ever decide to get one, I have a short list of possibles, in no particular order:

EAA Witness
Sig-Sauer P-220
Smith and Wesson 4506 or 4566

I've owned or shot extensively similar guns (Witness .40 S&W, S&W 5906, Sig P-225 and P-226) to all of these, so I have confidence that any of them should suit me.

If I got a Colt-type gun, it would have to be one with a firing-pin safety, like a Series 80.

Just my two cents

I own a lot of .45s. The one I shoot in IDPA or Bull's Eye is an Elite Match.

It is what every production .45 wants to be - dead on accurate, 100 percent reliable and priced right.
