I did several searches and could not find any real information concerning relining handgun barrels. All I could find were references to rifles and shotguns.

I have passed on a few purchases of old (especially European) handguns because of borderline barrels. Replacement barrels are often unavailable.

Does anyone know of a source or vendor who might reline barrels in the 7.65 to 9mm range?

Most .30-.38-ish caliber liners are 1/2" outside diameter. Automatic pistol barrels tend not to have much excess metal; unless you're lucky, you won't have enough left after boring to support the locking lugs.

If you find a source for thinner-walled liners, I'd sure be pleased if you would post a link. I could find a use for some...

Note that, while worn rifling isn't good, it doesn't necessarily mean the pistol will pattern like a shotgun, though it might be finicky about the brand of ammo it wants for best accuracy.

Thanks, TRX. That makes sense now that I think about it.

Thanks Rodinal. I looked at that site, but missed the C96 part. Unfortunately, my 96s are good.

I'd really like to find a good 1914 Mauser 7.62 barrel. Anyone?
