Handgun that will eat ANTHING!!!

A bottom feeder that will "eat anything" may not hit anything.
Some of the super accurate pistols are finicky about ammo and cleanliness.

Defense or Target ?

Correct !
Reliability and function usually mean the action of the gun tends to be loose to allow more tolerance of foreign matter.
Accuracy requires tighter action with less play in tolerances.
Both are important ! The shooter must determine which best suits his/her needs.
It usually boils down to defense or target shooting, but an acceptable balance is possible through extensive investigation.
IMHO defense is more important than punching holes in paper.:)

Glock 23.

IME, when you say "ANYTHING", you're including weak cheapo 9mm ammo. And I've noticed major reliability problems with that. .380 is even worse.

But, .40 and 10mm are less effected by weak ammo, being that they're overall hotter rounds.

My Glock with a storm lake barrel loves cast stuff. I drop the recoil spring weight and shoot light stuff for cheap practice or new shooters. Keeps on chuggin as many as I have put through it!

Other than that, how about a 45 ACP revolver? That WILL eat anything that you don't get stuck in the barrel lol. My pop has my SW 625 now, and he loves it. Cast wide flat nose 45 ACP rounds are fun to sling, as well as light cast stuff. 600 FPS cast bullets make great plinkers out of it.

Not true at all that feeding issues affect accuracy in any way. Feeding has to do with design of feed ramp angles, materials, polishing and recoil spring designs and strengths, mags, etc. accuracy only relates to barrel and chamber tolerances. An AK 47 will tolerate more dirt for feeding but, is not an inaccurate gun. A 3rd generation Smith is a well designed and well built handgun and in no way a "bottom feeder". I would put mine up against anyone with a high dollar 45acp for accuracy.

my smith and Wesson 4506 and 4566 can eat anything none stop. I am talking about dirty reloads all the way to gold dot with out a hiccup. this is why I bought a 4006 and 5906.
