I find The Harbor Freight to be Very dusty. Much more than the Litter. . I try to cut the dust with Mineral sprits and Drier sheets. HF bill it as Blast media But using Blast media from DRILLSPOT or KRAMER Industries. They are superior.
Knowing HF products It is probable Just the bottom of the Barrel

Nope. Just put the media in a bag and vacuum it up. Take it out of the canister and repeat. It pulls the dust out of the media.

Or you can blow the dust off. I've put media in a paint filter bag and used a handheld blower to blow the dust off.

I've been using lizard bedding since I started tumbling. Not sure if I've ever changed it. Spent dryer sheets, a bit of polish, some mineral spirits.

I use the Lizard litter in my tumbler and sand bags.
It seems to hold up well and it doesn't plug-up the flash holes.

I switched to lizard litter several years ago. I'll never go back to corncob media.

Here is another use for it. We save all our change and periodically take it our bank and run it through their coin counting machine. The machine doesn't like dirty or even slightly bent coins and we always have a few to bring home. Recently my wife asked me if I could tumble the dirty coins and clean them up. Darn, why didn't I think of that? It cleaned most of them up to nice and shiny. Some had some black gunk that I had to scrape off with a utility knife and send through the litter another time. A very small anvil, from Harbor Freight of course, and a very small hammer took care of the bent ones. Every one of them went the machine.

I use the lizard liter with dryer sheets to clean newly collected brass, then I use corncobs with Franklin brass polish to polish and clean the lube after I've deprimed the brass. Makes the brass nice and shiney.

Watch out. The Drillspot police will come after you to stop being a cheapskate.
I put my black and dirty corn cob into a plastic bag. Add a couple quarts of water. Mash it around. Twist the top of the bag and squeeze out 90% of the water. Then dump it out and let it dry. It looks like corn cob that has been used once, when it's done. And works better than that. Less dust than new corn cob.

The dust is the only reason that your media gets old. This dust clings to the cases, turning your fingers black. And then when it gets worse, you get black sludge stuck to the cases, from all the dust plus polish. All this crud easily washes off with a quick, quick rinse in water. Don't get crazy with the washing though. It takes 30 seconds to remove 95% of the dust. You can spend hours getting 99%, but it will be back the first time you use it.
