Harvey might delay my hunting season.

Oh, and all bird hunting is on hold for me. I can't leave right now, could make it up there on the motorcycle, done that before, but I'm going to stay home for the wife.
At least you're ok. Is there any chance you could take and post some pics for us?

At this stage in the game...you'd do better to forget about the birds and start putting out trot-lines. ;)

Yeah, but not in the Colorado river. :D My front yard, maybe. Hallettsville is flooded. My barber won't be cutting my hair for a while and my favorite sporting goods hole in the wall, Rainesek's true value, is in the sqqre. I was on a guberment weather site and they said there's 6 FEET of water in the square. MY GAWD!!! Man, that Lavaca river is usually just a little stream of water you can jump over in Hallettsville, but they've had some epic floods the locals still talk about and THIS should top 'em ALL.

At this point, I can't get anywhere. We have a store down at Sandy Creek, don't know about THAT stream, but there's a little lake up stream that would have caught the first flow. There's a new store with gas in Sheridan, but we can't go to Hallettsville, obviously, and there's water over the road at Altair at the crossroads of 90A and 71, so we can't get to Columbus or El Campo, either. I don't know about the little road to Weimer, but I wouldn't travel it without the canoe to get out. LOL

Lordy, what a mess! At least we're dry here....unless we go outside. I haven't checked the creek down the road today. It was getting better yesterday and I rode through it on my ATV. I tell ya, sometimes living here is an adventure. :D

BTW, Flintknapper, that thing is entering the gulf and coming your way! Hope you all are on high ground. It's starting to leave us, so I feel better today about our future

Yes, I meant your yard and the bar ditches up and down the roads. Should be able to catch some catfish and crawfish at the very least. ;)

Hope it all ends soon and you guys suffer no damage or further inconveniences.

We are on high ground, it would take 10'-12' feet of rain to flood me. But we do get cut off from town sometimes. Roads will flood and leave us with no way out. Part of living out in the country. I'll take it.

Well, I think I'm going to call Delgado's tow service out of Eagle Lake to get me out of the mud. Ain't THAT expensive and I can leave tomorrow as the route is now clear through La Grange. Columbus is now under water. The flooding on the Colorado is going to be record flooding in Wharton. The flood now and then from the river, but this one takes the cake. I drove over the river going to Eagle Lake yesterday morning and it's nearly up to the bridge. WOW. If the bridge has gone under, Delgado's won't be able to get here. Oh, well......
