Has anyone put together a long-slide G21?

I have had a six-inch barrel on my G21 for some time, along with 3.5-pound trigger connector, Lasermax guide-rod strobe, red laser and Glock light, just not the long slide. I'm just curious about whether anyone has had any shooting experience with this set up. (Incidentally, I have heard that the 3.5-pound connector does not reduce trigger weight to 3.5 pounds without a new trigger or firing pin spring (not sure which).

Another question, any opinions about the G21 long-slide as a carry gun? (My carry method (briefcase) makes it feasible.)

I thought about buying a complete long slide for my G21. Once I tallied up the cost, I could buy a NIB Glock 34/35 (and close to a G17L) for what I paid for just the complete slide assembly. I wouldn't carry it, too much barrel and slide there to make it useable in a IWB. I would only use it to plink with, but I can do that with my stock G21. I don't participate in any gun games , other than competing with friends. I decided that the money could be used else where , and not on a long slide that I wouldn't use much. Money is extremely tight, so I can't invest in "toys" as much as I use to.

In you situation, you don't have to worry about concealing it since it will be in your brief case. I guess you will need to sort out whether you will need the extra 1" - 2" of barrel and slide for your intended purpose (long shots? Higher velocity?). Then again, if you have the extra money laying around, and want something new to play with......why not ?
