I'm sure many here have sold or traded guns for other guns. But how about barter? I once was going to buy a used car and part of the payment was going to be a circa 1952 S&W pre model 10 6". I once traded a Bulgarian commercial Makarov and a TV for a medium sized Cannon gun safe.

Someone I knew claimed he traded a Llama .380acp for a horse in Mexico! In a business I was involved in at one time the owner was always late in paying me money he owed so IIRC I once received a NIB Marlin Camp carbine .45acp and a very banged up Colt DA revolver from the 1890's as either partial payment or to make up for late payments.

In 1992 I traded a beautiful Browning BL22 for a low mileage Ford 460 for my wife's even lower mileage 1973 F-350... The funny part is I'm in the process of preparing that truck for scrapping today. Although that truck has given me my money's worth, and is still in pretty good shape, I still miss that rifle.

Traded a nice Over/Under shotgun for the services of a divorce lawyer. Got more value out of the deal than the gun blue books for, so I still feel good about the trade. Of course it helps that the lawyer is a personal friend as well.

I once traded an SKS and a grip mount for an M1911 to a friend in exchange for a '386 PC. I went straight from an 8088 to a '386.

Yes. A good friend of mine helped me build my shed. It's a pretty big shed. He was rewarded with a Springfield doublestack 1911.

    I traded for a car

One time we got into trouble financially (both of our vehicles broke down at the same time) so My wife and I traded quite a few rifles/pistols to her parents for an older cadillac car. I have since been doing my best to replace them.

We still had to drop about 2 grand into the cadillac (it had been sitting for several years and needed a lot of work), but we were able to get to work the next week or so until we had the time/money to fix the other vehicles.

God timing. I'm currently working on a trade for a Ford 9N tractor. Guy wants a shotgun and a pistol plus some cash.

Traded a .410 pump gun for a '58 Plymouth in the early 70's. I got the best end of that one.

Traded a Westernfield pump for a Honda scrambler.. Got taken on that one.

Almost 20 years ago I traded a small collection (blue book value aproximately $1100) for an '82 Yamaha Seca 750. The only gun of that bunch I really miss is my first one: the blue Ruger Mk. II 5 1/2" bull barrel.

I traded a mid-level paintball gun (An STO autococker, for those familiar) worth about $250 at the time, for first pick out of a crate of SAR-1's and a case of ammo.

    Sweet, sweet.
