Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

My club secured a large order ( don't know the quantity but it was a big amount) of 12 ga. target loads for sale to members only. Got a flat, (250 rounds), of Fiocchi target loads this morning for 63 bucks including tax. I don't reload shotgun shells, ( knew I should have gotten that shotgun press and related stuff a few years ago). Already have enough 12 ga. target loads here to hopefully get through the coming year for my occasional sporting clays use, but now I have some insurance rounds just to be sure. Sixty three bucks is also a good deal in these turbulent economic times, IMHO. IMG_0724.JPG

Leather (used, Grade "B") AKM sling, from---- "Whatacountry!"
Looking forward to giving it a somewhat browner, artificially-seasoned look.

Why bother...? I did this with the wood on my four imported AKMs. It's all about adding character.

More .22LR. Currently sitting on 15K rounds.

I also shoot this caliber quite often now that all others are through the roof. I put together a dedicated .22LR AR upper to match what I normally run drills with—runs great!

Got to our refurbished range on Saturday. Took my rangefinder along to confirm target distances and discovered the battery was dead. :uhoh: Just ordered a couple more so I'll have a spare in the kit.

At the LGS yesterday, no ammo of course, But did get some electronic muffs, cleaning supplies and a spare mag for the wife’s sig.

Hi...
I went on another little gun shop tour Wednesday after the latest apocalyptic snow storm blew through southcentral Pennsylvania the last 2-3 days. We ended up with about 12-3/4" of powdery snow that continued to blow and drift through Wednesday evening.
Anyway...I managed to find a few more primers on this last little tour.
Three shops had exactly zero primers which was pretty discouraging.
I did find another 300 large pistol magnum primers preloaded in the APS strips at the same shop I got some last week. The price went up to $3.95 per hundred with a limit of 300 per person per type per day.

Another shop had a slightly larger assortment of primers and I was able to get 200 Federal large pistol match primers, 200 Federal magnum large pistol match primers and 100 Federal small pistol primers. Prices were $7.99 per hundred and I was able to get the limit per person per type per day allowed at that shop.

I didn't buy any powder but did check the shelves and they are getting quite empty. Very limited in types and amounts...many powders are simply not to be found at any of the shops. Bullet supplies are just as sparse or maybe a bit worse if that is even possible.
Reloading die sets are becoming very scarce as well.
Not much in the way of available firearms either.

I wonder how much longer some of these shops can survive with no product to sell.
Several local shops have cut back their hours or are only open by appointment.

I sold about 80k primers at current going rates so i'm looking at getting another fine freedom arms revolver. Probably a .22 this time.

Went to one of those &@#rabblefraz local gun shows yesterday. Had my utility type pocket knife sharpened, found some 1943 made, cupronickel jacketed, somewhat the worse looking for storage .303 British military rounds which are fine for my display of old rifles. Then on the way out (not kidding, intent on leaving) I found a good example P14 rifle with British acceptance stamps. For those who do not know, a P14 is the prior rifle built in the United States for the Brits during the First World War. When the United States entered WW1, 'we' kept making the same rifle, except chambered in .30-06 Springfield and called it the "Rifle, M1917". (The story is a bit more detailed and complicated, look it up.)

Picked up a conversion barrel for my model 23 and spent way too much for some 4227..
