Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Being a nice guy, I gave my box of staples to a friend doing “itchilasion”. So my trip to Scheels(more for my daughter to play in the indoor playground), Menards(supposed to be for the last bit of stuff for my powder cabinet doors, and I had a “DUH” moment looking at hinges) and Walmart(lettuce cheese and half and half🤣) actually did end up with some gun related stuff. IMG_5011.jpeg I’m reallygetting to like these targets BTW. The 1/4 grid is awesome!

IMG_0944.JPG ... IMG_0945.JPG ... This came in yesterday at the LGS, ordered it a week ago yesterday and picked it up today. Nice little unit. 1.5-4x 20mm Leupold. I'm getting addicted to stuff like this. It's light and trim with a one inch main tube. Everything I'm looking for including a 20mm objective (front) lens. A great match-up for a light, trim single shot woods rifle in .308.

Bought a oem glock 19 rsa and also got a 15 pound recoil spring. My psa compact dagger ran perfect out of box but once I added optic and compensator it is a non stop jam machine. Stove pipes allmost every round. And if it does eject empty case it don't go far enough back to pick up next round. So the fixes I've read about for the feed issues is to try a oem glock recoil assembly instead of the assembly that comes with dagger slides. Or to try a reduced power spring and the 15 pound seems to be the most recommended to try.

I bought some ammo today. I picked up a box of 50 Monarch zinc coated, steel case 9mm 115gr. FMJ. I never saw Monarch 9mm steel case at Academy before. My Hi-power and Ruger SR-9 have eaten the various Russian brands of 9mm steel case over the years with barely a hiccup. I don't recall feeding my Ruger EC9S any steel case ammo since I have had it. I think I will see if the smaller Ruger likes it or not. I also picked up two 50 round boxes of .22LR, one Aguila 40 Gr copper plated solid points and one 50 round box of Monarch 40 Gr. solid points.

Well, for some reason I started looking around for an automatic powder measure/trickler, and found a nice used RCBS on another site, so that's on the way. It should make reloading 30-06 match ammo a lot faster then hand trickling. Also more accurate then throwing every charge of stick powders like IMR 4064.

Been buying components from the sales places have been running: Grafs order 5000 Unis Ginex SP primers Free Shipping and Haz Mat this week, 2000 bullets from Berrys Free Shipping , 1000 bullets from Powder Valley and I am probably going to order some more stuff tonight. I may order 4 pounds of BE-86 from Grafs tonight they have it for $37.00 a pound I think they are try to clear it out.

Beautiful day here yesterday so pulled the Road King out and ran some errands. Picked up small parts for an atv and some air compressor oil.

Because it was so nice I decided to add a couple of stops. A pawn shop where I recently scored a Taurus 741 in .32 H&R was first. Not much of the inventory turned over. He still has the 4 inch SP101 in .327FM with the $979.00 price tag on it. It will be a cold day in…well,….you know the rest before I plunk that down .

Next stop was Sportsmans Warehouse. Actually had primers on the shelf in a few offerings at the elevated prices we see now. Powder was there but nothing I was looking for. Didn’t check prices. Accurate 2-5-7 but no #9.

Picked up 2 boxes of this because it was on sale and I wanted to try it out.

I ordered some Eley to try in my rifle, have been shooting SK & Lapua. The flat point Eley will feed in the RimX,
but not the Vudoo. The RimX magazines are simply superior. The RN Eley will feed in either gun. Ordered some
of the new Eley "Super Duper, Extra Special, Razamanaz, Ultra Extreme Long Range" .22 LR ammo. We'll see. :)

When you are trying different 22 ammo, do you clean the barrel or boresnake it when switching? Thanks

I bought 2000 rounds of CCI Target .22 LR from a LGS.

I asked if they could work with me on the price if I paid cash, and they did. 10 cents per round plus sales tax; saved nearly $20 over the listed retail box price. I figured they might like to avoid the 3% credit card fee, and I was right.

Not a gee whiz savings, but I got it on my shelf now, without worrying about shipping or porch pirates or hazmat. Comforting to have it on hand. I will never understand those who dislike the .22 LR.
