    Getting prepared for winter reloading:

Larry Potterfield gave me my birthday discount this month, so I ordered up a big box of his dogtown bullets in .55gr (.224), some dies and some replacement decapping pins. Picked up a couple pounds of rifle powder at Sportsman's Warehouse. Stopped in at the junk store and got a toaster oven for $8 to powder coat some 200gr 45 colts I cast from my range lead. Worked great, using Harbor Freight red I had. Need to check all my reloading stock so I'm not caught up in the next scare that always comes around. I refuse to be a victim (again) :).

I have a number of guns I shoot often. My favorite guns. I have a habit of buying extra parts like springs, strikers, extractors which I keep on hand. Just bought more parts for my Nano and Kahr. These guns are built tough and will last me a lifetime. So having parts to replace when lost or just time to replace come in handy.

    Hi...
Visited Kings Shooter's Supply in King of Prussia Pa today.
Bought 500 .45 Colt 255gr powder coated LSWC.
My son bought 1000 9mm powder coated bullets and 250 powder coated cast bullets for his .30/30 and a pound of Titegroup.

We are having excellent results with Kings cast bullets.

It never stops. Parts kit from Gunbusters showed up today. Other stuff being bought to make the parts kit become a complete gun. Ammo to shoot said beast once it is finished.

this is the song that never ends

I've spent the past two days fitting a Power Custom base pin and oversize cylinder latch to my Ruger NM Blackhawk. Prior to this operation, there was way too much wobble in the cylinder, both laterally and side to side when the bolt engaged the cylinder cuts.

I can tell you this...the pistol locks up like a bank vault now. There is zero wobble or play. The process takes patience, time and the right tools (needle files, Dremel tool, polishing stones, etc) but the effort has been well worth it. I'm just a garage gunsmith but I've found your biggest ally when tackling a project like this is patience. Don't get in a hurry, be ready to set something down and walk away from it. It's amazing what you see you didn't see before because you got tunnel vision.

The base pin added .002" to the diameter of the stock pin, and the cylinder latch added .004" to the width of the existing latch. But oh what a difference those few small thousands of an inch make :)

A Czechpoint muzzle brake for the new Czechpoint VZ-58. The thread protector is simple to unscrew.
And the device has a cool look.

I brought 200 rounds of Wolf .223 steel case FMJ mainly out of curiosity to see how well it performs.

One of my distributors is going out of business and had an awesome price on Bergara Woodsman in 6.5 CM. I have a B-14 Hunter and always wanted one with a wood stock. I had to order 2 of them. One for resale and one for a MERRY CHRISTMAS to me. I'll post pics when it comes in.

A metal magazine for the new VZ-58.. The two Czech Small Arms factory plastic magazines just don't have the rugged look.

My other foreign sport utility rifles have very tough metal mags (Hungarian Tanker etc).
