Once in a long while I will remove only the bolt from my MKII and never remove the barrel assembly from the frame. Clean out the internals the best I can and put the bolt back in.
I do agree with another poster that perhaps a revolver might be easier to deal with as removing/replacing the bolt is a two hand job.
