After much thinking and research, I recently decided (finally) to buy a Savage Model 25 Lightweight Varminter in 22 Hornet, but learned from my local gun guy that it may take months to get it. Further and perhaps most frustrating is that neither Savage Arms nor the wholesaler will give an approximate delivery date. My guy's wholesaler tells him they do not know what guns will arrive or when they might arrive. My gun guy says he has orders that are months old. Is this happening to you all out there? With Savage only? Other manufacturers? What has been your erxperience? Perhaps they are supplying big customers like Cabela's??? Has anyone ordered one of these rifles thru a large company like Cabela's?? I have a request in for them too and have not heard back yet.

There's been a lot of this going around. CZ USA told me the other day they're back ordered 3 months. My theory is upcoming elections, just like 4 years ago when you couldn't find an AR or AK for less than a kidney.

More common rifles are easily available. The less common guns are only made during slow times at the factory. They are not going to stop production of common guns they are selling as fast as they can make them to make a handful of the less popular rifles. When they get caught up on what is making them money they'll make a few.

JMR40, You are probably correct, but the guns guys I'm talking to...not Cabela's...are telling me they are having trouble getting several different calibers.

When I was at my lgs they had 3 of them and I played with 2: 30-06 and .308.

Maybe specialty Savages, but their basic models are abundant, I saw bunches of them at Bass Pro yesterday. Even their higher end 14/114 models which are a really nice rifle.

Nope, I only inquired about .308 Savage 10 Precision Carbine. Also, this was the Hazelwood store. Have you tried KC location? I wonder if you found what you were looking for at my store, if they'd transfer it to your nearest location? I'd be making some calls to find out.
