Shootings reported near Metro bus stops
Police are investigating five drive-by shootings that occurred this morning in Kansas City, three near Metro bus stops.
No one was seriously injured in any of the incidents.
Police are looking for three young men who are wearing ski masks and firing a BB gun. They are traveling in a white vehicle, possibly a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, with a broken rear taillight.
The first shooting occurred about 6 a.m. near Swope Parkway and Prospect Avenue, according to police. A woman, believed to be about 70 years old, was taken to the hospital with serious but not-life-threatening injuries after being shot while waiting for a Metro bus.
The second shooting occurred shortly thereafter at a bus stop near 35th Street and Prospect Avenue and wounded a man believed to be about 50 years old.
The third shooting injured a man in his 40s about 7 a.m. at a bus stop near Independence and Garfield avenues. No further details were immediately available about the shooting, including the extent of injuries.
The fourth shooting occurred about a half-hour later near 8th Street and Lydia Avenue outside a business. No one was hit in that incident, or in a fifth shooting about 7:50 a.m. outside a business at 12th Street and the Paseo.
No further suspect information was immediately available this morning.
