Heads Up - Sen. Blumenthal predictably calls for gun control after Cali shootings

There will be no drastic changes until ENOUGH citizens decide that they are done with the status quo and all the garbage that goes along with it. THEN something will happen. Too much apathy in the U.S. of A these days I am afraid. When all the people getting welfare and free housing find the help stops, and it will someday, then there will be hell to pay.:banghead:

I would have been surprised if there had NOT been an uproar.

Whats scariest to me is that these guys keep getting elected. Are they seriously getting all of these votes...hold on, let me adjust my tin foil... that's better.. When do we start wondering if we are experiencing a flawed (rigged) voting system?
That's because even if we are able to convince the liberals that guns are not the problem they are still going to vote democratic...AS A GROUP. We as conservatives split our vote so the liberals keep winning. I'm Libertarian but I'm voting Republican these next two elections.

I've brought two anti gunners into the shooting sports...but...both still vote democratic.

Like Bartholomew said...the liberals are not fixing the problem by passing more laws but because they are not fixing the problem it continues...then they want more laws. Even if we made guns an absolute forbidden object mass murders would still happen. These public gun shooting tantrum throwers have nothing on the creativeness of the Timothy McVays...the 9-11 hijackers...the people that drive into crowds and the mail bombers. Crazy doesn't mean stupid.

The Battle of Athens was a symbol of resistance to government but it pales when compared to the Battle of Blair Mountain when thousands of coal minors fought for Union rights and over a million rounds were fired.

Further gun restrictions are dangerous because doing so will cost far more lives than they might save. Even shotguns are allowed in Commonwealth and European countries. God save the victims of these mass shooters if the shooters can't get a pistol or even AR-15s and start using shotguns loaded with buckshot. It's game over after that.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it: For a victim of violent crime to call for gun control is like a victim of shipwreck calling for the elimination of life boats.

That is beautiful. Can I use that as my sig quote?

It'd be nice for a reporter to get out in front for once, and have ask Blumenthal after one of these deals "why did it take you two whole hours to offer the same thing you always do, regardless of the situation, as a means of preventing the tragedy, regardless of the its circumstance?" Or even better "how come it's always only the same 3 figures who come out swinging first? Do your colleagues not care about the victims of gun violence, either?"

I will say his rhetoric makes even less sense this go-around; pretty obvious he's reading talking points without reading them beforehand (otherwise he'd notice his national-level policy goals were already in effect and without effect in the situation he's trying to push them with). As opposed to simply calling him an idiot for contradicting himself, let's simply apply inductive reasoning and surmise he'd only speak so thoughtlessly if his goals went beyond his stated intent (i.e. an ultimate ban on firearms). Confusing autos/semis, pistols and assault weapons, shotguns and AR15s makes perfect sense in the minds of those seeking to ban them all ;)

One of the things I really dislike

about these mass killings/suicides is the media attention they get and the feeding frenzy by the politicians trying to demonstrate their concern and relevance so they can get re-elected. Even if there is no legislation that is passed, and there probably won't be this close to an election, it will set off another round of ammo hoarding. I'm not a hoarder but it has my mind doing back flips trying to figure out where the next shortage is going to pop up.

We should get used to it. As long as Bloomberg is flashing wads of cash, there will be no shortage of politicians and "reporters" who want to get on board that gravy train.

It is a consequence of misguided permissive parenting and a perverted entitlement culture that rewards incompetence, mediocrity, and failure.

It makes me wonder, if the parents were so concerned (and I'm sure they sincerely were, I mean, they called the cops after all) did they actually try to intervene PERSONALLY with their son?

Sure, he was not a minor, but still...

Connect the dots

Anyone that studies these mass murders of late should be able to come to one very simple conclusion.

A mentally ill person can always get a firearm or some other device that can kill a lot of people. That has been demonstrated over and over again. They generally buy them legally, make them or steal them. If it wasn't a firearm it could be a homemade bomb.

So my question is if gun control only controls guns and not people, how is it all of these smart people haven't come to the realization that gun control isn't the answer. The way I see it the NICS check is a form of people control and not really gun control. It doesn't keep me from buying a gun but it keeps a felon from buying one. It regulates people and not guns. Real gun control is the AR ban in CA because the average person isn't allowed to own one.

So is the next step to ban all guns and pressure cookers in CA? If it isn't working now why would anyone think a total ban would work. It wouldn't work anyway because of 2A and the recent decisions by the 9th district court. People have a right to carry a gun if.......

So that leaves us with people control. Persons who have a history of mental illness shouldn't be able to legally purchase or own firearms. The only way to keep tabs on these individuals is doctors reporting to an agency that an individual is being treated. I know it sounds Orwellian but if any LE agency could investigate and search a residence if it was reported that the individual who was being treated for mental illness was seen with a firearm.

So how much longer before they connect the dots? Or is it some people just don't like guns and don't really care about who has them?

Bingo! It's people control. Coupled with emotional reaction.

Being a CA native and at the cost of sounding cold, sorry but this is what they get for trying to create their gun free utopia. They try to pass over the fact that 3 were killed with knives and others were ran down by him in his car. All they want to do is exploit the fact that he used a gun to kill 3 people and himself.

Where to we place the blame? First on his parents, I'm sure daddy paid for everything and he channeled some of that to buying guns. Next would be the local police, they're not trained psychologist and said he was fine and dandy. Not so according to the killer, one of his last videos he said there were guns in his room and they never even looked around in his room for anything!

He was a psycho! I watched a couple of his videos and if they had held him on a 72 hour hold and actually did any test on him they would've found this out. If trained doctors watched the videos, asked him the correct questions... He would be sitting in a rubber room right now, not alongside 6 of his victims!!!

As for the father letting himself be a tool for all the news agencies to parade around. He's pathetic, he can't tell they don't give a rats azz about his or his dead child. They just want to use him for their own anti gun agendas.
