GAAAAAA!!!

You guys are expecting Gura to argue for the entire scope of the 2nd. That CAN NOT happen here!

He is walking a tightrope and our enemies are trying to get him to broaden the scope. Some of you are getting mad at him for keeping the case narrow. That's what he HAS to do.

Gura is agreeing to just about anything. He should have shut-up about 5 minutes ago. The Justices are trying to save him from himself.

Trigger lock and loaded gun? Don't all manufacturers say that's a no-no?

Three seconds to remove the lock and have the gun ready to go? I doubt it.

Yeah, they are not tearing him up as much, but I they still had doors open for him, and he seemed to back peddle. I did not expect them to be perfect, but a little disappointed.

Though they did get right into Dellinger again.

He is attempting to appear reasonable. He is dropping back to the Constituion; and staying on the case at hand. Future battles are for the future.

Geez

I know about a dozen people who could have taken every one of those questions and jammed them down the throat of the SC. Gura is weak!:banghead:

Souter asks whether cities may consider statistics, such as local murder rates, in determining the reasonableness of firearms restrictions.

Stevens asks whether a state university could bar students from possessing firearms in dormitories or on campus.
Just a quick question about the Supreme Court sine I don't follow it -- is there any chance to tune the Justices in to the possibility that their idealogical narratives are wrong, or that they are asking the "wrong question?"

No they weren't. They (the bad guys) were trying to get him to agree to a broad interpretation. To get an Individual interpretation here, he has to avoid that.

On gun locks

"so, you turn on the lamp, put on your reading glasses, reach for the gunlock..."
(court laughs).

Of course it'd be nice if someone, ANYONE, would mention how dangerous trigger locks are (I.E. NEVER put your finger -or anything else for that matter- on the trigger until you are ready to shoot).

"Your honor, it took me like...three seconds to remove a trigger lock". Sure, but was anyone trying to assault him during that event? Was he scared, were his hands shaking???? Geez so many softballs that could be slammed out of the park.

they gave him the chance to make some lines in the sand and rather than make them he backpedaled. He could have seized upon the opportunity they were giving him and used it to his advantage. He is a smart guy but he is not dynamic. The justices gave him ample opportunity.

Seriously, you guys losing your freaking minds over Machine Guns need to stop drop and roll.

You're going to implode over something that just doesn't matter IN THIS CASE.

This case is NOT to get some kind of sweeping ruling that would overturn the Hughes amendment before Christmas and if you really thought it would you need to read a LOT more.
