Apparently this is a Belgian made shotgun (1800s?) - I won't have many more details till I have this bad boy in hand; any ideas about makes or value? thanks guys

You have a genuine "wall hanger". Great to hang up high on the wall as decoration, but not good for anything else.

It is very unlikey you will find the makers name unless it is stamped on the gun itself. Many percussion guns, like this one, were made in small shops and sold to individuals or retailers. They may or may not have been marked by the maker.

No clue, really, but I have used this website in the past to help identify and value an old belgian SXS that was passed down through our family. It is partially in French but mostly understandable. Lots of info on proof marks and various makers. Good pictures, too. I even emailed the guy and was able to correspond a little despite his broken English. Hope it helps.
