Hi,

I know this isn't the best place to post this, but if anyone in the Central Arkansas area can help it would be appreciated.

This is an update on the need for blood for Patrik Rollefson, the little boy from PA.

I spoke to the school nurse this am,
Patrik took a turn for the worse so they had to start chemo yesterday… he will be going through this for 6 weeks and they are in need of any type of NEGATIVE blood ( NOT JUST AB NEGATIVE) at this point for the 6 weeks period, he will need about 9 donors a week.
I am including the number and info for the Red Cross in case anyone can donate or knows someone that is able.

Thanks very much!

Little Rock Donor Center, 401 South Monroe, Little Rock, AR 72205, 501-614-4422 and donate platelets and tell them they are for Patrik. The donation center recommends you call in advance and set up an appointment to give platelets since it takes special equipment

From yesterday we have ...

Important Message from PA Nurse Kristin Claybrook

PA Families:

One of our 4th grade students, Patrik Rollefson, was diagnosed with leukemia yesterday. He is in the Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital. At this point, the type leukemia is not known. When I spoke with his father this morning, he told me that they are in need of type AB negative platelets. His father is a match and is donating but it is not enough. The American Red Cross Blood Bank does not have any AB negative platelets.

If you have AB negative blood or know someone who does, you can go to the local blood bank, Little Rock Donor Center, 401 South Monroe, Little Rock, AR 72205, 501-614-4422 and donate platelets and tell them they are for Patrik. The donation center recommends you call in advance and set up an appointment to give platelets since it takes special equipment. The need is immediate! Doctors would like to begin chemotherapy treatments within 2 days.

If anyone is interested in sending a card, he is at Children's Hospital in the PICU, Room 24.

Please keep Patrik and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you,
Kristin Claybrook, R.N.
