I was looking at buying a bolt action Remington 700 30-06. A local store had a display on clearance. There was one problem. The safety mechanism would not move from "F" to "S" when the bolt was shut. It would move from from "S" to "F" and it would move both directions with the bolt open.
I think the trigger guard was causing this. I think the trigger guard is causing the trigger to be pulled; thus, not allowing the safety to work. I'm a little nervous buying the display and obviously don't want the gun if the safety feature doesn't work, but it's the gun I want and the price was reduced.
Any thoughts?
