I'm torn between a puma lever action in .357 and a mini 14. I'm looking for pros and cons to help me make my decision. Price is about the same by $100 or so. And the all guns being banned argument isn't a factor in my decision.

i own the mini 14. its ok nothin to right home about. if i had to do it again or was torn between the two id prob go with the lever. on the other hand you can do so many diffrent things with the mini. PS take a look at this ruger 10-22 your going to likey.http://www.1022fungun.com/

Have you coonsidered a Marlin 1894C? They are very nice guns. I have a Mini also, the NRA edition, pretty nice gun but not the best.

From what i've seen on the puma reviews on the web i've seen 15000 rounds 0 failure and never did find a bad post. I'm leaning that direction but for some reason the mini came into my mind today. And as far as the 10/22 I do loike that but I can't bring myself to put 300 dollars in a 200 dollar rifle. Maybe someday.

I'd go with the puma here; versatile , fast, can hold a bunch of rounds, tube fed so no cost for extra mags, and a very good rep. I'd do it.
