Help with 92 Compact series

I've always loved the Beretta 92 series 9mm's, its just their to big for my hands. Today I shot a buddys 92 Compact, I think it was an M or MM, not sure. Nice gun but I still wouldn't classify it as a compact. Any help you could give me in understanding the nomenclature of the Compact series and a few recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard of this gun (essentially a downsized, slimmed-down 92 series, with a single-stack, 8-round magazine) being called a "Type M." Not many of them were made.

The Vertec models are better suited for those with small hands. By far Berettas best model IMO. It sucks production was stopped in '06.

The type M is the thinner grip.

The compact model is still double stack magazine - just a tiny bit shorter... (13 rounds instead of 15)

The type M is out of production, but you can probably scrounge a used one up online
